The accelerated freefall skydiving course is only for the student who
is serious about becoming a qualified skydiver. It is the fast-track to
fun and excitement. AFF was designed to be done over a short period
time as it is an accelerated learning process. Ideally the course
should be done over two to three days. The AFF course can be completed
in as little as eight jumps. The only alternative way to progress to a
qualified level is through the static line system (RAPS), this can take
an average 45 jumps and 6 - 18 months. AFF is the fastest way to go
from a complete beginner to a qualified skydiver. Each
jump is done from 13,000 feet with in air tuition. The course consists
of 1 days ground school and 8 levels. The first 3 levels are completed
with two AFF instructors holding you in the air and communicating with
you by hand signals. Levels 4 - 7 are completed with one instructor and
level 8 is on your own. You will be falling at 120 mph for up to one
minute and as part of the course you will learn to perform aerial
manoeuvres like back loops, turns, forward movement, and experience the
complete freedom and sensation of flying. By as little as level 3, you
could be in freefall with your instructors but not being held by them!
