RAPS Solo Paracute Jump
The Ram Air Parachute Progression system is another way that many people do their first jump. It utilises a rectangular parachute that will fly forward at 20 Mph, it is very manoeuvrable and will enable you to come in for a soft landing as long as you follow your training. This course requires 8 hours training which is done at the airfield and is held on a Saturday daytime with an early start at about 8.30 a.m. You will be trained in all aspects of exiting the aircraft, flying your parachute and landing it. There is bunk room accommodation availabe at a charge of £5 per person if you wish to stay over but remember you will need a sleeping bag. The bunk room may need to be booked in advance. We also supply free camping if you have a tent and there are also local B&B's. There is a canteen serving hot and cold food throughout the day and a bar on site for night time. To progress to a qualified skydiver takes the average student around 45 jumps over many months. At £35 per jump added to the first jump course fee it is slower and not really any cheaper than doing A.F.F. If you want a one off experience either static line or Tandem are great. If you want to be a Skydiver and get there fast? See A.F.F (Accelerated Freefall
Of
course, you would be jumping with two parachutes having one as a back
up and would be fully trained and tested on malfunction and reserve
drills. You will be required to pass both practical and written tests
during the training course. After this, you will be fully trained and
ready to jump that evening weather and light permitting. If not you
would jump the next day on the Sunday. (weather permitting)

Spectators
are welcome, but be warned that they may have to spend some
considerable time while you are training or indeed waiting for suitable
weather conditions to jump.
